This may seem like a trivial or "boat" question, but before embarking on a holiday rental, it is imperative to take into account the following elements, which we will give you in no particular order. If the price/villa remains primordial, especially in these times, it is not a question of missing your stay for a difference of a few euros, or even less*!
First of all, which country do I want to go to, my own or a different one? In a country that I can reach by car and then choose to make significant savings by "filling the car" even if it means spending time travelling: I can then rent a villa in France, Spain, Italy or Portugal, or I can take the plane to discover Sicily, Corsica...
I am very interested in the sun? Andalusia, Tuscany, the Lisbon region for example are good destinations! I would rather stay in a villa that combines both? For example in the Dordogne or Tuscany. I prefer the sea, Corsica, Sicily, Javea on the Costa Blanca in Spain, or the countryside? Absolute calm or not? I want peace and quiet and nothing else, or I accept to have a little noise... Do I prefer the interior of the villa or do I attach more importance to the exterior?
Finally, don't forget that you are renting a villa for a holiday, you are not buying it. It's a temporary place for holidays and therefore for a determined period of time, which you may not like for certain construction details or fittings that you would have seen otherwise, which you may have done in your own house, but that's not the main thing: you're on holiday!
*If you have more than four people coming together for a holiday, renting a villa is still the best way to go on holiday. But you should also know that no matter what you are promised, you will never get a luxury villa for the price of a mobile home: it's just not possible!
