A handsome chateau dating back to the early 1660’s Cler has been beautifully maintained and improved over recent years and offers first class holiday accommodation in elegant surroundings. Located just to the south of the bastide town of Pons 7km where there are comprehensive shopping and restaurant facilities. Baker delivery service available. La Rochelle airport 94km. Baker delivery service available. Calais 790km. The wide sandy beaches of St George de Didonne 45km are within easy driving distance. This is a perfect property for extended family groups and friends and even weddings for which a marquis can be made available.

The upper floor has four double bedrooms (1 x 140 wide etc), one en-suite shower room with toilet, one en-suite bathroom with toilet. Three twin bedrooms (2 x etc), one en-suite shower room with toilet. A further family bathroom with toilet and a shower room with toilet.

The ground floor has a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom with toilet. Shower room with toilet. Snooker room with full-size table. Fully equipped kitchen. Formal dining room and a living room with beautiful, historic wood burner and access to the terrace overlooking the main garden area.

The décor comprises a combination of restored original such as the leather wallpaper in the living room and wood panelling in the snooker and dining room and an appropriate recent style in many of the bedrooms. Furnishings are a pleasant mix of modern and traditional. There is a full internet connection.

The grounds are wonderful with vast sweeping lawns overlooked from a fantastic terrace which runs the full length of the chateau. To the side is a large swimming pool which is sheltered by a high stone wall which offers complete seclusion.

The services of a chef are available at a supplement, on request. Many clients enjoy the catering facility at this property.

The price includes :

Property made available in good order and fully equipped. Local taxes (unless specified otherwise in the villa description), reasonable consumption of services including water, gas and electricity. Linen and towels provided (not including beach towels). Garden and swimming pool maintenance.

The price does not include :

Refundable cash deposit €600 payable locally. Heating for the house and firewood. Additional services (where available) including cleaning, babysitting and cooking.
