About this holiday rental

This converted fisherman's cottage has an exceptional waterfront setting and combines an almost completely private location with a house which is very much in tune with its setting with the magnificent sea views and includes in the price the use of a boat (license required) and a motor dingy (no license needed), two kayaks and two paddle boards.

Villa on three floors (each with independent access) for 4/6 people, 2 bedrooms, 2 shower rooms, air conditioning, satellite television (French channels only), wifi.

The ground floor has a light and airy living and dining room with comfortable double sofa bed (Rapido), satellite television (with French channels only though it does have an internet connection cable) which looks out over the sea. Well equipped open plan kitchen (with American fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee maker, dishwasher, oven, ceramic hob etc.). Small shower room with toilet. Double bedroom (140 cm wide bed).

Outside three steps lead down to the conservatory which has a table and chairs for dining as well as a coffee table and seating. Along two sides the windows all slide open so you can adjust as you wish to take advantage of the spectacular views.

Outside twelve steps lead further down to an independent shower room with toilet.

Then four more steps lead down again past the built-in barbecue and pizza oven to a small covered terrace with table and chairs and a double bedroom (140 cm wide bed) with amazing sea views.

Although compact the house is well designed with ingenious storage space throughout. There is air conditioning throughout.

The front garden area has seating and on the main part overlooking the sea, there is an area for eating outside which is shaded by a magnificent Mediterranean pine tree. A part of the patio terrace projects towards the sea and offers particularly special views of the sea and the small bay.

A gateway leads to the private rocky beach (there is a coastal pathway which cuts across it but it is infrequently used and passers-by are not allowed to remain in the area). There is a terrace area with four sun loungers and parasols where you can enjoy the sun by the sea. A jetty with wooden deck serves as an access point to the water for swimming as well as a launch point for the motorised dingy, the two kayaks and the two paddle boards. The water is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming and snorkelling.

Set in an idyllic quiet bay with just a small number of houses nearby there is a wonderful feeling of peace and proximity to the sea. Opposite the house is the Isle de Giens and behind it the Isle de Porquerolles which you can take the boat to in around thirty-five minutes and there you will find one of the best beaches in France as well as small sandy coves such as the one shown in the photograph along with the boat that comes with the villa.

There are lovely walks in the area through woods and along the coast. A local fisherman comes each day and you can purchase lobster and fresh fish caught the same day. The local wine is very good too. So you can live simply, with adequate comfort and enjoy life peacefully by the sea without any hassle.

For shopping you can either take the boat around to the small port of Carqueiranne in just two minutes and there you have a good range as well as a market, or you can drive there, it is two kilometres.

At the front of the house, over the small road, there is private parking space for up to four cars. There is hardly any other parking space which deters tourists and it is a remote, little-frequented place.

For those who do not have a license for the larger boat, the owner will take you if you wish on two one-day excursions per week.

Hyeres 7 km. Rail station in Toulon 13 km. Carqueiranne 2 km. Golf 7 km. Riding 7 km. Sailing club 2 km. Diving school nearby. Cycling and walking also.

NOTE: the change over day is Monday except for the first week of the opening when you can arrive on a Saturday if you wish.
