PRICES

The prices communicated on our website are per rental week. They include all the service costs at the property: water, electricity, gas, pool products (where applicable), garden maintenance. In some cases, the linen is provided, most often it requires a supplement, to be paid directly on site to the owner or his representative. The public prices indicated on our Internet site are susceptible to modification, following computer errors or increase of the owner cost. However, any confirmation of booking made by Villas du Monde is firm and final: the amount of the lease can not be changed.
Our prices include (unless otherwise stated) fees and taxes except tourist tax, water and electricity consumption.
Our prices do not include (unless otherwise stated) telephone use and subscription (if applicable), nor tourist taxes and cancellation insurance (optional). They include, unless not available or otherwise mentioned, the wifi.
In low and middle season, the house heating is never included. The heating of the swimming pools, if any, is never included, except express mention on our site, and in particular in Brittany for the covered swimming pools where it is included. Our price list is communicated by villa, for each rental period. The possible supplements are indicated precisely at the bottom of each villa description published on our site.

RENTAL PERIODS

Arrival time : between 16h and 19h. Departure time before 10h. In some instances there is a minimum stay of two weeks during July and August.

If the client is unable to arrive on the day or time of arrival pre-arranged the local agent must be notified promptly, failure to do so will result in loss of rights to any holiday refund.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTIONS

The vast majority of our properties in Portugal have been visited at least once by our staff.

The descriptions (as per the law of 16th May 1967) supplied by the owners / agents are accurately transformed into the descriptions on our website. If despite the care taken to ensure accuracy the description is in any way incorrect or misleading due to an omission in the information supplied by the owner / agent Villas du Monde can not be held responsible.

HOLIDAY RENTAL EQUIPMENT

Most of the villas are equipped with a barbecue (portable or built in) and garden furniture (chairs, tables, sun loungers). The property will have a fully equipped kitchen, furnishings and bedding. The owner or his/her agent are responsible for the quality of the equipment which needs to be sufficient for the occupancy capacity indicated on the contract (garden furniture and sun loungers do not necessarily need to match the house occupancy capacity). If the description mentions a satellite television that does not imply that English channels are available. Occassionaly certain items such as hot water boilers, pool pumps and washing machines require repair. The owner/agent/key-holder locally will do all that can be done to resolve any such problems as quickly as possible, though sometimes, particularly in high season, there may be small delays.

ANIMALS

Animals are only accepted where they have been requested and accepted at the time of booking. Otherwise the local agent/owner/key-holder can refuse to allow them in the property.

SECURITY DEPOSITS

An obligatory security deposit will be required by the key-holder before you are allowed access to the property.

The key-holder has the right to refuse entry to the property if you fail to provide the requisite deposit (which can be cash or in some instances card details). The deposit will be returned to you at the latest 30 days (in some cases) after your departure. Deductions will be made from the deposit for any utility charges due or breakages, loss or damage incurred during your stay. Security deposit amounts and payment method are detailed in the notes under each property description and on your confirmation. We recommend that you are vigilant during your stay and report any breakages immediately. You are entirely responsible for returning the villa in the same condition as you found it when you arrived and must have adequate insurance to cover any substantial breakages. Villas du Monde, as an intermediary, does not intervene in any way with security deposits and cannot be held in any way responsible for matters arising from them. In the event of excess damage or disturbance we reserve the right to terminate your stay without any recourse or liability.

CANCELLATION

Any cancellation must be made by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt: the date of receipt determines the cancellation fee according to the following scale. Your cancellation can be made by phone (0800 800 565) followed by an email, or an email to the addresses of Villas du Monde, listed in your contract. You will receive an acknowledgment of receipt within 48 hours, informing you of it being taken into account.

Prerequisite: In accordance with the regulations, the booking of a villa or a holiday apartment, made online, for fixed dates, which you make freely, on your own initiative on our site is firm and commits you definitively. You do not have the right of withdrawal, whatever the reason. According to European law: ref: European directive n° 2011/83 and judgment of the court of cassation: 1st Civ, 25 November 2010, appeal N° 09-70.833 (France).

As a result and subsequently if you wish to cancel your rental agreement, the cancellation penalties will be as follows:

  • If you cancel more than 45 days before your entry into the premises: the cancellation fee will be equal to 30% of your rental amount, plus the booking fees and the amount of insurance cancellation if applicable and whatever the amount paid during your reservation (formula club, classic, or full payment).
  • Between 45 and 30 days before your entry on the premises: the expenses of cancellation are equal to 50% of the amount of your rent, plus the booking fees and the amount of the cancellation insurance if applicable.
  • Between 30 days and the date of entry into the premises: 100% of the amount of your rental, plus booking fees and the amount of cancellation insurance if applicable.

Note: This compensation scale can be covered in many cases of cancellation by the insurance (cancellation, water damage and fire, damage to property, ...) that you can purchase with our agency, it is optional and its cost is calculated according to the amount of your rent.

RESERVATION

When you make your booking you need to pay a deposit of 30% (unless using our Club Formula).

Before booking check the property is still available. You will receive a confirmation contract within 10 days (usually 24 hours). The final balance must be paid 30 days before the arrival date at the property. Once your final balance has been paid you will receive all the relevant information required for your holiday. If your holiday commences within 40 days of booking you will be required to pay in full at the time of reserving. Careful, if you fail to make the requisite payments on the due date your holiday can be cancelled and all monies paid forfeit to Villas du Monde according to the law.

SWIMMING POOL

For properties with private and shared pools, these are generally available for use from May until October. For holidays beginning before or after a supplement might be required to pay for early pool activation costs should the owners accept to open the swimming pool. If you are travelling outside the specified dates you must verify whether the pool will be available. In general beach towels are not provided.

OCCUPANCY CAPACITY

Only the number of adults and children specified on your holiday confirmation are permitted to stay in the property. Should your party exceed the published sleeping capacity or indeed exceed number of adults and children specified on the confirmation you risk being refused access to the property and forfeiting your payment or having to pay a supplementary charge at the discretion of the owner or agent.

HOUSE CLEANING

The house must left as clean as when you found it on arrival. Do take care to check the property is adequately clean when you arrive then ensure you leave it in similar good order. In some cases a final cleaning charge is required.

Careful ; if the owner/agent/key-holder is obliged to bring in cleaners for additional cleaning the bill will be deducted from your security deposit.

PECULIARITES OF PORTUGAL

In Portugal interruptions to water and electricity supplies are more frequent than in England. The local authorities or service providers sometimes cut supply on a temporary basis. Neither the owner/agent or ourselves can be held responsible for any losses caused as a result. The same applies regarding any noise or interruption from building work or likewise, either private or public which may affect the neighbourhood, rental properties or non rental. Most of the villas have drinkable water, however we recommend that you use bottled water for drinking. It is advisable to purchase mosquito and ant repellents. In rural areas the access roads are often not tarmac and can be a bit difficult.

VILLAS DU MONDE : TRANSPARENT PROXY

Villas du Monde acts as a transparent proxy for local agencies in the countries in which properties are supplied in Europe (France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Croatia) and countries outside the EEC (Indonesia, Africa, Caribbean etc). All the prices are in Euros, including the rentals, charges and local taxes. The prices shown do not include any additional services other than the property rental as shown on the website. Rental contracts made in these countries are always made in the name of Villas du Monde.

COMPLAINTS

If you wish to make a complaint about the substantial qualities of your rental, you should contact the owner / manager and / or correspondent on site.

In case of dispute, you must also inform us by telephone within 72 hours of your arrival. To be taken into consideration, this complaint must imperatively be followed by a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt sent within 4 days of your arrival. After this period (maximum of 6 days) no complaint will be considered. This complaint will be immediately forwarded to the correspondent or local owner and we will inform you of its response. In the absence of a solution, the only competent court is that of the province of Alicante, Spain, whatever the reason for the dispute. Villas du Monde acting in the name and on behalf of the owners, its liability can only be incurred on the sole hypothesis that it voluntarily (and) mistakenly transcribes inaccurate information that would substantially change the reality of the holiday rental property proposed.
